Dr. Mariam received her Dental degree (BDS) in 1989 from the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, followed by a master degree in 1994 in Paediatric Dentistry, King’s College, London. She worked in Egypt, UK, KSA and since 1998 in Germany. Dr. Mariam owns a private dental practice since 2003 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Title: A journey through Paediatric Dentistry

In this course, the young dentists are offered an overview of the work of a paediatric dentist, how to run a children dental practice and management of some interesting cases. Also the participants are introduced to the interdisciplinary cooperation of Paediatric dentists with other professionals such as orthodontists, paediatricians and speech therapists.

 

This lecture/work shop course will enable you to save time and cost as well as learn new information. In the half day work shop participants will be exposed to the followings:

  • The newborn: first dental visit, how to examine, what am i looking for and how to treat. General advice for daily care.
  • The young child: caries, prevention,treatment planing and if necessary GA
  • Traumatic injuries, direct and late mangement in the deciduous and permanent dentition
  • Restorative treatment and pulp therapie, different theories in Europe and what is applicable for a general dental practitioner
  • Simple Orthodontic Issues: The role of the paediatric dentist.
  • Interdisciplinary Cooperations with other fields
